Disclaimer: if you click on a link/ image in this article and decide to purchase, Viking Beast Media will earn a commission (at no extra cost to you). This will directly fund my out-of-control passion for supplements.
For some reason, I like lifting weights and pushing my body to absolute limits.
Combine this with a healthy interest in supplements, and you have a recipe for disaster.
One type of supplement that I especially like is pre-workout.
While searching the internet, I found a pre-workout with atypical flavors, like “Cosmic Stardust.”
This was enough to convince me, so here I am writing about it.
In this article, I’ll be reviewing the Alani Nu Pre-Workout.
Grab your favorite popcorn machine, pop some kernels, and let’s find out if Alani Nu Pre-Workout is next on your supplement list.

Alani Nu Pre-Workout claims to enhance your workout in the following ways:
- Sustained energy and endurance during your workout.
- Assist in your daily pursuit to smash your goals and get stronger.
- Only ingredients you need, without the useless fillers.
- A range of delicious flavors.
Based on the claims, Alani Nu Pre-Workout could be great for everyday workouts, but does it work? Let’s see.
Ingredients in Alani Nu Pre-Workout
Alani Nu is entirely transparent regarding quantities used for the ingredients in their Pre-Workout.
This is good because supplement companies often hide bad/ underdosed supplements using “proprietary blends.”
It’s always best to know what you’re consuming.
L-Citrulline Malate 2:1
L-Citrulline is a non-essential amino acid. The body changes L-citrulline into another amino acid called L-arginine.
It helps to widen the blood vessels by increasing the release of nitric oxide.
This allows more blood flow, oxygen, and nutrients to be transported into the muscles.
L-Citrulline also increases blood flow to the brain, which helps you to feel more focused, energetic, and sharper during training.
6,000 mg is properly dosed for these benefits.
Beta-Alanine
Beta-Alanine is also a non-essential amino acid naturally produced in the body.
It helps with muscle fatigue, so you can do more reps and sets while working out. Over time this will result in more muscle growth and better strength gains.
It’s also the cause of that itchy or tingling feeling all over your body.
For maximal benefits, the dosage of Beta-Alanine should be 4,000-6,000 mg daily.
The dose in Alani Nu Pre-Workout is with 1,600 mg underdosed.
However, it’s understandable since a higher amount would cause a heavier “itch” to occur, which many people don’t particularly like.
L-Tyrosine
L-Tyrosine is another non-essential amino acid that can increase happiness, manage stress, improve memory, and helps the body build proteins.
It also helps produce thyroid hormones, melatonin (skin and hair pigment), and enzymes.
It helps produce neurotransmitters like epinephrine, norepinephrine, and dopamine.
In simple words, this influences mood and allows nerve cells to communicate. Both of which are great for working out.
500 mg is a regular dose of L-Tyrosine
Caffeine (Coffea Arabica Bean Extract)
A highly concentrated form of caffeine that’s extracted from the beans of the Coffea Arabica plant.
Caffeine is excellent for energy, performance, cognitive abilities, and alertness.
L-Theanine
L-Theanine is an amino acid mainly found in black tea, green tea, and a few variants of mushrooms.
It’s not essential for the human body, and we don’t produce it ourselves.
L-Theanine influences the neurotransmitters in our brains by increasing the production of GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid), serotonin, and dopamine.
These regulate stress, mood, alertness, concentration, emotion, sleep, perception of fear, etc.
L-Theanine can be especially significant combined with caffeine to boost mental focus and reduce fear, anxiety, and stress.
200 mg is a regular dose of L-Theanine.

I’ve never seen a pre-workout have so many unique flavors, which differentiates Alani Nu from competitors.
I gravitate towards the space flavors, but this might be because I love this universe and beyond.
Is Alani Nu Pre-Workout safe?
Alani Nu pre-workout seems exceptionally safe compared to other pre-workouts because it’s a mix of caffeine with different kinds of amino acids.
You might feel “itchy” after taking the pre-workout, but this is due to beta-alanine and is entirely harmless. It naturally goes away pretty fast.
The caffeine content isn’t overly high with 200 mg, but if you’re very sensitive to caffeine or react badly to it, you might be better off with a stim-free pre-workout.
Some rare cases might have mild side effects, like an upset stomach.
Experiences with Alani Nu Pre-Workout
The experiences with Alani Nu Pre-Workout are mainly positive. It goes as far as stating that the pre-workout is “magic.”
Overall, people enjoy the energy boost and don’t have the typical “crash” after the caffeine wears off (which often happens when taking pre-workouts).
In addition, many people love the flavors, even though they’re sometimes hard to explain in words. However, this is personal taste and will vary between persons.
Be aware of the tingly/ itchy feeling that beta-alanine can give you after drinking the Alani Nu pre-workout.
It’s harmless and goes away in a reasonably short time.
People seem to love this pre-workout, but be mindful that people react differently to supplements, so there will always be some variation in experience.
Overall, Alani Nu Pre-Workout gets a whopping 4,6 out of 5 stars on Amazon.
Price of Alani Nu Pre-Workout
Alani Nu Pre-Workout is priced at around 39,00 dollars on Amazon.
This makes the price per scoop around $1,30.
From personal experience, this is an average price for a decent pre-workout.
There are many “cheaper” pre-workouts, but they’re mostly underdosed/ full of proprietary blends/ contain useless ingredients.

Is Alani Nu Pre-Workout Worth It?
I think Alani Nu Pre-Workout can be an excellent pre-workout, especially for beginners and people who don’t need an extreme pre-workout.
I like the complete transparency in ingredients and quantities used, so you know what you’re consuming.
The caffeine content is enough to give you energy, but not so much that you’re in danger of a heart attack (I’ve taken some insane 400-500 mg + pre-workouts over the years).
Alani Nu pre-workout contains L-Theanine, which I love. It works best combined with caffeine, gives a pleasant feeling of energy and mental focus, and improves mood.
This ingredient improved my days and those of my mom, girlfriend, and grandmom (they’re all very skeptical of supplements).
This is, weirdly enough, not included in many pre-workouts.
Furthermore, it contains three other amino acids that are great for improving workouts, and the flavor variety is something I’ve fallen in love with.
The Alani Nu pre-workout is not the craziest on the market.
Still, if you’re looking for a refreshing pre-workout with an extraordinary taste and smooth/ clean energy, I recommend giving the Alani Nu pre-workout a try.
You can find Alani Nu pre-workout on Amazon here.
I've also reviewed the Alani Nu Energy Drinks, which are zero-sugar energy drinks that provide energy without a crash, boost mood, and help focus.
